The Mason-Lake Conservation District is seeking candidates to fill a District Director position.

Candidates will be voted on at the Conservation District Election to be held on the 31st day of January, 2019.

Length of term in office:  Partial term of one (1) year

Date petition is due to the Conservation District Office:  November 30th, 2018

Director duties include attending monthly board meetings, overseeing the finances of the Conservation District, hiring and managing staff, guiding projects and promoting conservation activities in the District. Directors also volunteer to help out at events put on by the Conservation District throughout the year, such as tree sales and Household Hazardous Waste day.  Terms for a Director position are usually 4 years. In this case, candidates will be running for a partial term of only one year. The position is currently held by an interim director.  However, as a public agency, the Conservation District must hold a public election to officially fill vacant seats.
